Rawabi’s Amphitheatre: Setting New Standards in Concert Management
In Palestine, there was little experience in organizing large-scale concerts that met international standards. However, with the Rawabi Amphitheatre, one of the largest venues in the Middle East, selected to host iconic artists like Saber Ruba’i, Mohammad Assaf, and Omar Abdallat, the task at hand was challenging. Our role at VandV Advertising Agency was to organize an event that would deliver an extraordinary experience to 24,000 attendees. Our goal was to ensure that every attendee, regardless of their seat, felt as if they were in the front row, requiring the highest level of technical precision in lighting, sound, screen visibility, and overall management.
Meeting international standards was the biggest challenge. Ensuring that the sound and visuals were equally effective for everyone in the vast amphitheater was a key concern. We also had to manage the specific technical requirements for each artist and develop contingency plans for any unexpected issues, such as potential power outages or disruptions.
To address these challenges, the VandV team collaborated with international consultants and meticulously studied the technical riders provided by each artist. We conducted equipment testing six days prior to the event, ensuring all elements met the highest standards. Premium-quality sound and lighting systems were installed, and we carefully implemented each artist’s requirements to perfection. Additionally, we developed a comprehensive contingency plan, which included backup generators to tackle unforeseen events.
On the day of the concert, VandV executed a flawless event in partnership with Rawabi’s team, setting a new standard for live performances in Palestine. Through detailed planning and preparation, we ensured that every attendee experienced a world-class concert, enhanced by exceptional sound, lighting, and visual effects. Despite challenges such as power cable issues, our robust contingency planning allowed the event to continue without a hitch, demonstrating our commitment to delivering excellence.
The Rawabi Amphitheatre concert surpassed all expectations, with over 24,000 attendees enjoying a spectacular performance by Mohammad Assaf and other artists. The event not only highlighted Rawabi’s capability to host internationally recognized events but also positioned the city as a premier cultural destination in Palestine. The success of this event established new benchmarks for concert management in the region and underscored VandV’s expertise in organizing large-scale, high-impact events.
